Kent Cricket Feeder League EAST

WE ARE 1/3 RD OF THE WAY THROUGH NOW....

1A: Early leaders Deal have lost 2 in a row now.....and with everyone beating everyone else, this division is really close. About 30 points seperate 2nd and 9th and the promoted teams Nonington and BBH have both settled into a mid table position. Currently Yalding, Pembury and NAG fill the bottom 3 positions...next week sees COWDREY play DEAL & YALDING play PEMBURY in what could very well shape the division. Sides do not want to be caught in a relegation fight....

1B: Old Williamsonians, Sherwood and Frindsbury continue to dominate. Sherwood have posted record scores through Dan Boorman and the now recovered Simon Preston (good to see you back Simon-hope the leg is ok). Frindsbury who came down from 1A last year are right in the mix and are still unbeaten, as are Old Williamsonians. At the other end, Herne Bay, the Mote 3rd xi and Sevenoaks Vine 3rd xi are struggling and it is beginning to look like a fight between these 3.

1C: Whitstable, Street End and Holborough Anchorians are the top 3 sides in this division and it looks likely that the top 2 will come from these 3. Holborough beat Whitstable last weekend to end their unbeaten run, leaving only Street End intact with theirs. At the other end, New Ifield, BBC&LH 3rd xi and Sheppey look like the sides in danger of the drop.

1D: Snodland are going great guns and look unstoppable....other than that, the division is wide open....

1E: Old Hartsdonians and Kennington currently have an unbeaten record and look the favourites to progress up to 1D.....

2A: Macknade, Frindsbury and Betteshanger look favourites to fight it out for the 1 promotion spot into the KCL.....Bapchild, the Mote 4th xi and Tonbridge all look likely to be around the drop zone, however the Mote 4th xi have a knack of winning when it counts, just like this weekend....but this is an open division as well...

2B: Deal Vics look very strong in this division and my guess is that they will be hard to beat all season. Hovering around them are Pembury and could yet give them a challenge. At the other end, New Ifield have withdrawn, so only 1 side will probably go down to 2C at the end of the season...currently that looks likely to be a fight between BBC&LH 4th xi and Sherwood 2nd xi.

2C: This is a very open division as well, with Old Williamsonians 2nd xi (who have lost 2 games), Yalding 2nd xi (who have beaten Old Willaimsonains but lost 3 games so far), New Romney (who have beaten Yalding and look potentially the side to beat-partly because they only have 1 side though....), Minster and Gore Court, all fighting for 2 promotion spots. This weekend sees 2nd placed Yalding play 3rd placed Minster.

Lets hope the weather is drier for the 2nd 1/3rd of the season.

Tony Shepherd.
